In the case of Cornell, I don’t know Chris. I do know what label he’s on now, and I do know who’s whispering in his ear. And heavily on the With Teeth album, I turned that record in and I would get back, “Hey you know, you might wanna… maybe we need to put some beats on this record.”
I’m not making this up. “What do you mean, beats?”

And the part of me that wants to be the open-minded artist says, “I’ll consider that.” I even went so far as Timbaland doing a— trying to do a— remix at Interscope’s dime of “Hand That Feeds”, which was laughably terrible. And when I turned in Year Zero, which I thought had the coolest beats I’ve ever come up with, I hear “Yeah, we need some cool beats.” It’s like, “You know what? Suck me.”

Embedding disabled (sigh), but man, I love this song a lot. Maybe my favorite NIN song. And yet absolutely no one else in the world seems to like it.
I’d certainly like to think it isn’t just my first exposure to Trent’s HAWT short haircut that gives me a powerful attraction to this song, but shallower things have happened.

I’m always surprised by how often NIN gets used in theatrical trailers, but it’s totally fitting in this instance. This trailer also, if you’re interested, practically ruined the movie for me (i.e., it gives way too much away).

Maybe it’s just because I love that particular NIN song so much, but this is the first trailer to make me actually want to see this. That said, it does finally give away the movie’s “hook” (hint: it’s something other than “Let’s shoot robots!”), and while it is desperately unoriginal, we can hope they get it right.

True that! A really, really, really enjoyable show. Not only is Trent Reznor hot as balls, but he puts on a masterful show and is clearly very serious about making sure that his audience is entertained, thrilled, and satisfied. His roadies must be busting their balls, though, between the complicated (and awesome) stage setup and Trent’s tendency to just chuck an instrument or piece of equipment into the air in a random direction as soon as he’s done with it. We appreciate the effort, guys!
Who would’ve thought we’d live to see the day when Trent Reznor is plainly one of the best-adjusted people in the music industry? I cannot fucking WAIT to see NIN in August.
