Roger Rabbit 2?
bikerfish:
ryandestroys:
I just want to be clear, while the nerd in me gets excited about the idea of revisting Roger Rabbit, I hate the idea of Zemeckis relying on motion capture and CGI. What made the original such an clever, innovative film was how seamlessly they blended gorgeous hand-drawn animation with live action. It looks amazing even two decades later. I would love to see a...

This might secretly be turning into my favorite album of the year. You can listen to the whole thing for free one time by signing up for Lala, which I only just got around to doing today.

On the bandwagon.
It’s amazing how quickly “I’ve got swine flu!” has become tiresome, but I actually am feeling feverish and out-of-sorts. Should I blame my lunchtime burrito? I do rarely get the chicken at Chipotle; perhaps my body is simply asking me why I did not feed it carnitas or barbacoa.

Molton Brown USA: re-charge black pepper body... →
Encountered this stuff for the first time today. It smells amazing. I’ve always been a bar-soap-from-the-pharmacy lazy type of guy, so it’s going to take some serious reprogramming to convince me to pay $28 for body wash, but man, I just might do it.

Faces.
SAD FACE: My officemate, who is totally cool, is out today.
HAPPY FACE: But that means I can listen to totally ridiculous gay dance party music all day!

Waaaaaaah
There is nothing worse than clipping one of your fingernails JUST too short.
No, literally, I mean it, there is nothing worse. Nothing more horrible has ever happened on the planet Earth. To anybody. Ever.

Also.
Is it pretentious to call albums/CDs “records”? I do it all the time and I can’t tell exactly how douchey it is. So: is it, in fact, douchey?

There are two new albums out today that I’d like to go buy, but so many record stores have closed in the last few months that I don’t honestly know if there’s one that I can comfortably get to and get back from on my lunch break. AND I WORK IN MIDTOWN MANHATTAN.
It wasn’t supposed to come to this, was it?

Why we need audiophiles. →
nervousacid:
Gizmodo dropped in on Michael Fremer, noted audiophile and reviewer for Stereophile Magazine, to hear what music sounds like on a $350,000 stereo system — using vinyl as the predominant format. What John Mahoney left with, among other things, was the discovery that his iPod sucked and that the splendor of sound is in the details:

Torrent Help?
adeandabet:
So my home computer is too old to support any Torrent software (it’s a pre-Intel Mac! Who knew those still existed!?). The problem is, I really want the movie “The Opposite Sex” (the 1956 version - a musical remake of “The Women” starring June Allison). It’s not on DVD at all and I found the .torrent file to download it, but that’s totally useless without uTorrent or another working...

Somebody hide Tom Friedman’s ball | Grist →
Read this article if you read Tom Friedman’s column about carbon taxes in the NYT this week. Or, hell, just read it anyway, because it’s got a lot of seriously important things to say. Just do it, please.
Barthel I am looking at you.
Today's Deep Thought
I hope the man and woman whose photos are used in the Classmates.com ads (we’ll call them Nerdy Haircut Girl and Anonymous Blond Jock) are dead. Because if they’re not, I’m sure they’re pretty tired of that shit.

Inauspicious.
I’m sick, I’m tired, it’s raining, I’m still hungry despite eating breakfast, I didn’t get U2 tickets, and I have a ton of work to do.
I literally cannot imagine anything that could possibly bring this day out of the negative column, barring the sudden and unheralded arrival of millions of dollars on my doorstep. (My figurative doorstep, since obviously I’m not...

Monopoly Killer: Perfect German Board Game... →
howsyrface:
While I do not own a copy of this game, I have played it many, many times over holidays ever since my brother introduced it to our family rituals. It is known in our dialect as “sheep” and there are dozens of other related, arcane expressions of anger and frustration that are included in the lexicon. So I would probably own you.
Chris, there is another board game that I have played...
